Architecture 2030 has formed a new Board of Directors committed to sustainability, with leaders ready to guide transformative initiatives in the built environment.

Architecture 2030 has unveiled its newly appointed Board of Directors, comprising a diverse group of visionary experts dedicated to advancing the organization’s mission. This new leadership team promises to harness their extensive industry experience and collective commitment to propel Architecture 2030 forward, particularly in addressing the urgent challenges posed by climate change within the built environment. In this context, the composition and mission of the board reflect the increasing urgency of sustainable practices in architecture and urban planning. The built environment is responsible for a significant amount of global carbon emissions, and organizations like Architecture 2030 are imperative in reshaping industry standards.

The New Board's Vision
The newly formed board features prominent figures in architecture and sustainability, each bringing a unique perspective and expertise. Their combined efforts are anticipated to enhance the organization's initiatives aimed at progressing toward a carbon-neutral future, an aspiration that aligns with various international climate accords and national commitments. What’s noteworthy is the diversity in not only their experiences but also their approaches to sustainability. Their strategies will likely incorporate innovative ideas from multiple sectors, allowing for a more holistic approach to addressing climate concerns. As the newly appointed Board Chair, Prem Sundharam expressed his thoughts on the future of the organization: “I am hopeful that Architecture 2030 will continue to bring clarity for climate action within the built environment and set aspirational goals as we move beyond the year 2030. I am excited to bring my passion to scale the impact of sustainable and resilient design by leveraging the deep connections I have with leaders across the design industry.”
Recognizing Contributions of Former Board Members
As the new leadership takes the helm, Architecture 2030 also wishes to acknowledge the significant contributions of departing board members Harmon Lisnow and Leonor Missrie. Their decades of service and commitment to the organization have been instrumental in establishing a strong foundation for future initiatives. While the focus is squarely on the new board, it’s important to understand the void left by retirements. The organization expresses gratitude to them for their leadership and dedication, recognizing how their efforts have shaped Architecture 2030's mission over the years. Transitions like these can create both challenges and opportunities; thus, the new board will need to build on that legacy while carving its own path.
